Everyone knows I hate running – it’s not something I look forward to or even remotely find pleasant – however couple running with tough obstacle courses, getting dirty and Finish Line beers and suddenly…I’m okay with it.
So this past weekend some coworkers and I ran the Jailbreak DFW. It’s a 3.5 mile adventure run and obstacle course over rugged and sometimes very muddy terrain. I’ve done the Warrior Dash a few years ago with some friends which is similar in nature and we had a great time. Earlier this year I even participated in the WipeOut Run (based on the television show) which was fun, but couldn’t compare to the fun I had running the Dash. So when the Jailbreak was brought up, I was totally in!
There were about 12 of us running together from the office and the weather was PERFECT! I wore my GoPro during the race in order to capture some of the fun obstacles during the race and to share with the others who couldn’t make it. Here are just a few pics from the day.

DIRTY (and HAPPY) AT THE FINISH LINE
After the race we headed into town in order to grab some grub. It was a LONG day of running and obstacles and we were all starving. BONUS – had a little B List celebrity sighting – Willy from Duck Dynasty was at the burger place we stopped at. He was playing it pretty low profile until someone at our table noticed him and we swarmed him for a photo. He was VERY nice and accommodated our request.
All in all, so much fun and we’re looking forward to the next one. Someone mentioned the Tough Mudder as our next race. That would be HUGE. I’m debating it but again…it’s the running that makes me hesitate. It’s at least 12 miles of even tougher obstacles. But who knows… Maybe I will suck it up and allow myself to break from my comfort zone and tackle it. Dare I?
