I’m really here!
I know I’ve been MIA here but trust me I’ve been active! Particularly on my FB and Instagram pages. Planning to make this more of a habit now that the hustle and bustle of the summer activities with family, getting my older boys ready for University (my GOD the stress!) and first day of school ramp up and cool down for all four of my kiddos (see what I did there?) is now done. We are wrapping up the end of the second full week so I feel like we’re finally gotten into a good groove and I’m settling into my happy place.
First off, if you’re still around – thank you! I had big plans for this blog when I first started but I’ve learned that you can’t do it all and you can’t be where you want to be right off the bat. Learned that from a long-time online friend and fellow blogger, Aliah at Get Fit Diva as well as another blogger mom, Danielle at OKDani who’ve both been at this blogging thing SO much longer than I have. They’re the bomb ya’ll if you haven’t checked them out yet. Aliah in particular has given me some really great advise I’ve been mulling over for a couple of weeks now and planning to implement moving forward because she’s my inspiration and she told me to. LOL (just kidding).
With that said, I’ve also been kicking around the possibility of changing the name of this blog. No final word there, so for now you’ll still see me reference A Fit Mom’s Life. I just feel like the name doesn’t suit me well and feels a little too generic. I also want it to be about more than just overall health – although it would still be my primary focus. Primarily because of selfish reasons (it keeps me accountable to improve my life to build and grow a healthier lifestyle and this blog IS about me). However, I also want to share more fun and crazy stuff that I come across all the time, creative designs that I swoon over, my interests and my life as a mom with my “TSoKs” (what I call my “two sets of kids” due to their gap in ages).
I want to be able to talk about my interracial marriage. My struggles, my failures, my successes and my randomness. More often than not, I find myself wanting to post all of these things but hesitate because they have absolutely nothing to do with health or fitness. And so I just don’t. And now you can see my dilemma and why I’ve been absent. Want to post. Can’t post because I feel it’s not relevent to the blog – GAH! Curse you, blog name – you got me in a corner!
So, you get the drift. Hopefully this will all play out well in the end and you’ll love the new stuff. Love me. And we’ll all wonder why the hell I was afraid of posting anyway? At least, that’s how it plays out in my head. If not, humor me. I’m a Gemini and like Erykah Badu once said, “I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my sh*t”.
